For folks who live in Wyoming, the University of Wyoming (UW) is it -- the only place offering baccalaureate and graduate degrees, as well as research and outreach services that stretch across the state. The main campus is in Laramie, but the school also has a campus in Casper, plus nine outreach education centers and 24 Cooperative Extension Service centers (located in each county and on the Wind River Reservation). Founded in 1887, UW has grown to serve more than 13,000 students with 180 programs of study and it still Wyoming's #1 institution for higher learning.
