Latham & Watkins' founders Dana Latham and Paul Watkins flipped a coin in 1934 to determine which of their names would go first on the law firm's shingle. From that coin toss, the firm has grown into one of the largest in the US and boasts more than 2,000 lawyers in about 30 offices around the world, from Europe to Asia. Latham & Watkins organizes its practices into five main areas: corporate; environment, land, and resources; finance; litigation; and tax. The firm has counted companies such as Amgen, Time Warner Inc., and Morgan Stanley among its clients.
