SpiceJet aims to add a little flavor to the life of India's budget-minded travelers. The company offers low-priced flights to almost 20 cities throughout India using a fleet of about 20 Boeing 737s, which are suited to the short- to medium-range flights the company makes within the country. In addition to its flights, the company offers corporate incentive programs and travel insurance. In conjunction with the State Bank of India and GE Capital Services, it also offers a SpiceJet branded MasterCard. The airline was formed in 2005 and plans to offer international flights. Media magnate Kalanithi Maran owns about 40% of SpiceJet through his KAL Airways.
