University of Aberdeen

The third-oldest university in Scotland (after University of St. Andrews and University of Glasgow), University of Aberdeen is also one of the top institutions of higher learning in the UK. The university, which has an annual enrollment of some 14,000 students, offers more than 550 first degree programs and 110 master's programs at schools of arts and social science, life sciences and medicine, and physical sciences. It is also home to research institutes such as the Aberdeen Centre for Environmental Sustainability and the Rural Digital Economy Hub. University of Aberdeen traces its beginnings to the establishment of King's College in Aberdeen in 1495 by Bishop William Elphinstone.
