MEEMIC wants to teach you a thing or two about insurance. MEEMIC Insurance Company sells personal auto (almost 90% of business written), homeowners, boat, and umbrella policies to teachers and other educational employees in Michigan and Wisconsin. The insurer has an internal agency, MEEMIC Insurance Services (MEIA Agency). Its sales staff is made up primarily of educational professionals who sell to their peers; the staff also markets third-party lines not offered by the group. GMAC (since renamed Ally Financial) sold MEEMIC to Michigan-based Auto Club Insurance Association in 2009.
