Lauren earned her Master of Science in Criminal Justice and Public Safety from Indiana University - Purdue University Indianapolis in 2015. Born and raised in Indianapolis, Lauren enjoys hot yoga, walking her dog, and reading whenever she can. She jumps at any opportunity to travel to new places and learn the local histories.
As a program director for the Indiana Department of Correction Industries Division, Lauren works with various reentry programs aimed to better the success rate of inmates leaving prison. Lauren began her journey with correctional industries as a graduate intern that was hired after completing all scholastic requirements. She is gaining valuable experience while keeping her eyes open for new and exciting opportunities.
A member of Alpha Phi Sigma (Criminal Justice Honor Society) since 2012, Lauren served as her chapter's secretary and vice president. During a graduate internship, she conducted research under the supervision of a professor regarding apprehension methods of serial murderers to add to a database of information. Also during an internship, Lauren assisted in the coordination of an event that hosted over 50 local, state, and federal public safety organizations and served over 3,000 students.
Lauren would love to continue learning about the field of corrections and helping this population. She plans to expand her horizons to gain experience in different areas of correctional industries to make herself more marketable for future positions. Holding an executive or administrative position within a criminal justice field is a goal Lauren plans to reach.

Career History
Program Director , United States , Indianapolis, Indiana , This position is with the Indiana Department of Correction's Correctional Industries Division (PEN). Lauren works with career development programming for inmates along with representing the department in meetings with other community organizations. She also has worked on audit development and implementation for two different programs while providing support to field staff.
