Former Employee Managing Partner is overbearing and often paranoid that he is not being respected and revered. He is threatened by anyone who questions his opinions and refuses to allow anyone to speak Or question his position, despite often not knowing the complete situation or bothering to understand the factual history of a particular case. He is often unapproachable, and although he claims to have an open door policy he will often complain to other associates that certain people bother him too often with questions and are a nuisance. The office is a highly controlled environment with attorneys and staff often scared to speak to each other for fear of being reprimanded by the office manager or managing partner. Managing partner admittedly selected the current office so he can watch the parking lot and see when employees come and go. One entry door to the office is blocked by a chair so everyone is required to walk past the office manager and through the line of site of the managing partner when they enter or exit the office. Eating lunch outside of the office is frowned upon and ?sudden emergencies? often arise if an employee is away from their desk for too long. Managing partner is known to fabricate stories of complaints about an employee by other employees to perpetuate an environment of mistrust and constant state of anxiety amongst staff. Billable hours are the primary focus of the managing partner as opposed to successful representation of clients and absolutely no oversight is provided for case work. Many of the billable hours recorded by the managing partner and billed to clients at parter rates are in fact work performed by a paralegal.
