Very degrading, walked away with no self-esteem I was an Account Executive and besides below average pay, I had no responsibilities and decision making power. In my prior position as a Sales Assistant, I had more tasks, responsibilities, and more trust from my employer. My main task as an Account Executive at FD Worldwide was to write emails for the owner of the company. Before coming to FD, I had a strong background in jewelry. I was fully expecting to be able to use what I knew and then grow my knowledge base. However, that was not the case. They kept a lot of information (ie cost, margin, stone qualities) secret from the employees, which made my job difficult as well as giving the perception that they indeed had something to hide, which in most cases they did. The most upsetting part about that company is how they treat their employees. From my first to last day, I was verbally abused by the owner as well as the ?office manager.? This was conducted in person and via email. Every day the owner would send emails full of curse words, slander, and horrendously degrading comments. Before FD, I came from a Fortune 500 company, where this type of treatment could and would never have happened. There was absolutely no positive reinforcement or encouragement to better yourself or your work. In addition, there was no HR or person to be able to turn to with company issues because the ?office manager? would turn around forward the comments you would say to her in confidence to the owner. I would not suggest this company to a friend or to my worst enemy.
