One Word: Abusive When I started working here in September everything was great--I was the management's angel. Then management brought me down a notch or two in October...by playing a recording of me on the phone in front of the entire staff, sans notice. The reason was for "training purposes." One: it is illegal to record people unknowingly, and two: are you out of your mind? To save their own behinds, they promised me a raise in December. Unfortunately, as the months went on it got increasingly worse. Came December, and remember the raise? Nowhere to found. i was also given a horrific evaluation after receiving a holiday bonus just a couple of days before. Granted, they were going through major financial difficulties, but the delivery was absolutely horrendous. It seemed that after the holidays management was attempting to get me to quit. Besides cutting my hours to 15 down from 40, they would call me out in front of staff asking what i was doing to contribute to the company, wanted progress reports for my work for the day (am I five?), and anything else that would make someone want to punch a wall. I finally quit when I couldn't take the verbal abuse anymore. It was one of the happiest day of my life. I am now happily employed with a full-time job that has a wonderful, warm environment and room for growth.
