Stay Away - Toxic Culture Morale is low at Mediakix. I have ran personal errands for the CEO on multiple occasions. His leadership style is that of instilling fear and indiscreetly demeaning his employees. I have witnessed him yelling at employees countless times, occasionally based on fabricated facts/events. I am aware that he has made many employees cry. Employees are expected to work throughout vacations, weekends, late nights, and lunches without acknowledgement or compensation. There is no management structure. Any potential management figures were forbade from scheduling regular one-on-ones with employees. The company's overall strategy is to only care about making sales. It has been explicitly made clear that all broken departments and processes can be ignored because they're focused on growing sales. The culture is toxic. The CEO is not afraid of making inappropriate comments in company meetings. The company culture, among the teams in particular, is one of immense tension, micromanaging, and, overall, negativity.

Worked at company Evan had founded and was CEO. He's a great leader, focused on growth and servicing clients. He bootstrapped the business which is an amazing story and Mediakix was the first influencer marketing agency.

I've read and followed Evan's writing and journey with starting the first influencer marketing company and the way through selling it. He's an amazing entrepreneur and writer. I found him on Quora and started following his posts on entrepreneurship, business, leadership and personal development. Looking forward to his book!

I've worked with Evan for many years, both as a direct report and an independent consultant. Evan is one of the "OGs" of influencer marketing and has over a decade of valuable insight/experience in the creator space. While there were some ups & downs in 2020 after he sold the Mediakix business to a larger holding group (honestly, who didn't have ups & downs that year), I can say that my experience working with Evan in various capacities has been extremely positive. Evan has a vested interest in both the personal and professional growth of his employees, partners, and clients. His entrepreneurial spirit is reflected in his work and his only expectation of staff is a strong work ethic and motivation (that's a good thing). I've seen this firsthand and been a recipient of it myself. That's why I've continued to work with Evan over the years and hope to do so in the future!
