Dr. David Rehr is one of the nation's top business advocates in Washington, DC., and now teaches law students how to effect change in the corridors of power. He has lead two national organizations, the National Beer Wholesalers Association (NBWA) and the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB). Rehr's greatest achievement is the successful communications and marketing campaign he led as CEO of the NAB to successfully implement the analog to digital television transition in the US - a $1.2 billion dollar advocacy campaign that touched 29 million households and 68 analog television sets.
Rehr teaches Legislative Advocacy and Strategic Washington Leadership to law students at George Mason University. Rehr recently released two studies, one that focuses on how association CEOs handle uncertainty; the second focuses on diversity and inclusion in the association sector. Rehr regularly speaks to associations and organizations on how to increase their effectiveness before the U.S. Congress.
Rehr is a results-driven Chief Executive Officer (CEO) with over twenty-five years experience in organizational positioning, enterprise leadership and management, public policy advocacy at the federal and state level, and positive public affairs engagement. He has a proven record in leading associations, with specific expertise in fundraising, strategic planning, effective communications, media relationships, building coalitions and implementing performance metrics. Rehr has spoken across the US, in Brazil, Canada, Turkey, Mexico, and Brussels on business advocacy and positively influencing government.

Rehr is the co-creator and Host, Association Newsmakers, an innovative awarding-winning video webinar series, that focuses on the best practices of successful organizations.

Rehr also is the author of landmark advocacy research The Congressional Communications Report. The report focused on communication methods and preferences of congressional offices, their staff, advocacy techniques that influence, and how digital technology impacts the U.S. Congress.

Rehr has three goals for the future: 1. To bring much needed accountability and transparency to government so lawmakers become exceptional stewards of tax dollars; 2. Lead an organization that benefits its membership that wants to make a positive impact on federal and state government; 3. Author a book on successful advocacy, communications and marketing initiatives for the association community.
