No Direction at all and racist to boot! Racism: I experienced multiple racist remarks, assumptions, and decisions made by senior management. Company culture encourages people to stay until 6pm even if they were efficient and got their work done within the 7 hours of the day. They do not respect or reward a good work ethic. VERY few advancement prospects: Someone who had been there for 5 years working at a miserably low salary moved to a different department that she had no experience in, where she got a measly increase in pay. They are all about the time served (like jail) rather than actually being qualified. People with children are given MUCH more leeway in terms of coming in on time, leaving early, etc. If you are a single, unmarried person with no kids, you will be treated significantly differently. TERRIBLE record-keeping: When donors ask for a full, accurate accounting of their gifts, lifetime donations, it is quite difficult to get the information easily since there are such lax accounting and data standards. WAY too many people who are completely ineffectual, and, due to their time there, largely complacent. There are also way too many people with the same job title (marketing) who seem to do nothing, especially if their family members are on the board. The cafe on the first floor is disgusting, but everyone must use it for all catering needs. There is no real strategic plan for the organization nor is there any accountability for decisions in upper management.
