DO NOT WORK/INTERN HERE!!! 1. The staff is extremely catty/immature. Everyone talks crap about people all the time. They talk about co-workers, the owner, the interns, clients, random people on social media. EVERYONE. But they pretend to be nice in your face. 2. The hours are ridiculous. Interns are usually working from 9 am to 7:30 pm everyday. Everyone else works at LEAST until 9 pm everyday, and if you leave early everyone talks about you. 3. They are arrogant, and swear they are better than everyone. They will call someone dumb, and make them feel bad. They can't even be bothered to put their own dishes in the dish washer sometimes, and the interns have to do it for them. They all feel like "they're too experienced" and if something isn't their "job", they aren't helping out. 4. Nearly everything that goes wrong is due to the upper staff. Yet, they will blame it on the junior account managers and the interns every time. Example, a fellow intern was asked to drop off a dress to the owners apartment, and a junior account manager suggested that they label the garment bag since packages get dropped off at the front desk. The owner said no, because it would look tacky. The next day the bag was "missing" and everyone thought the intern dropped it off at the wrong place. Turns out the man at the front desk gave it to the wrong person because it didn't have a label. The owner ends up saying a label should have been on the bag, and that someone should have spoken up and put a label on it. He then said that from now on we all have to listen to him by putting labels on the bags. 5. Interns don't learn anything. Basically, interns are doing ALL of the dirty work. They are sometimes asked to get coffee for everyone in the office by themselves. One person trying to hold 6 cups of coffee and snacks. They take out the garbage. (One time we found a bloody tampon in the garbage can that wasn't even wrapped. Disgusting.) They take pictures of outgoing samples. They pack/unpack samples. They walk around Manhattan delivering samples/invitations. They go all over in search of magazines. They arrange the showroom. They drop off samples at the dry cleaners. They drop off boxes at FedEx. They answer the door. They load groceries into the owners car. Drop things off at his apartment. You get the idea. An internship here is just a waste of time. 6. Huge roaches. 7. The owner is just awful. He is one of the main people who talk badly about everyone. If you're standing somewhere, and he wants to get by he expects YOU to move out of his way. If you don't move, he'll just bump into you. He brings his dog/dogs to work regardless of if anyone is allergic to them. It is also very distracting. 8. Junior Account Managers beware. They fire someone every few months if you aren't perfect. They will not show you how to do your job, they will just fire you unexpectedly instead.
