So Much Potential Wasted
Girlgaze?s problems begin and end with the CEO. She lacks experience, but the same can be said of many startup founders. With the caliber of leaders signed up to support this company, her inexperience should be offset. Unfortunately, she?s unable to acknowledge either her limitations or the expertise and abilities of others and so Girlgaze just keeps making unforced errors with her at the helm. What can?t be offset is the way she treats people. She?s abusive, dishonest and unethical. She dodges her professional responsibilities while micromanaging and making accusations of misconduct and incompetence. She terrorizes employees, partners, and vendors, refuses to honor her commitments and lies constantly. She hoards credit for the hard work and achievements of her team but throws blame for her own choices and actions. There is zero leadership happening in this company, just a tyrannical narcissist bullying dedicated idealists. The few that remain seem to have a bit of Stockholm syndrome, those that left use the word trauma to describe their experience.
