The many recent reviews inspired me to post one. In reading these new reviews, I think it's important to elaborate on some of the points. For example, it's true that there is a lunch room that was created in recent years, it is not a comfortable environment As for other events, the holiday party always has bad food and features a magician (no, you can't bring your kids to the party, the magician is for the adults.) In the last few years Chestnut has also started to have a summer picnic that isn't completely horrible, but the food is always terrible. Other cons are terrible health insurance, laughable contribution to retirement accounts, inflexible time off, rampant favoritism and nepotism, and a general atmosphere of misery. This is not a "family-friendly" atmosphere as one review claims unless you're actually family, in which case you'll get a job regardless of qualifications. More in theme with the magician, the office is decorated with plastic goldfish stickers! Do not expect to participate in any family activities such as bring-your-child-to-work day or even to make it to your own kid's school play, because they won't give you the time off. There is no growth within the company (again, unless you're related). There has not been one promotion from within in my entire tenure there. Management is dismissive of suggestions and complaints. Chestnut has also started contacting residents to alter Google reviews. Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share via Email Copy Link
