Toxic culture, bad benefits, zero vision
Employees routinely worked long hours and through weekends on last-minute requests from clients. It was a culture of constant crunch and burnout disguised as "passion." Benefits and insurance were embarrassingly bad. No dental, vision, or retirement when I worked there. You had to bring your own laptop and pay for your own parking at the office. Leadership had zero long-term vision for the product. Instead of innovating to strengthen the product, most engineering time was spent on building custom features for clients. No HR. No dev ops, so every software engineer basically had two jobs.
