Sandhu Eye Hospital, a beacon of quality eye care in Punjab for over three decades, is located in Nawanshahr, a bustling business town in the Doaba region. Founded by the third generation of ophthalmologists from the Sandhu family, its roots trace back to Dr. Gurbax S Sandhu and Dr. Bhagat S. Sandhu, who commenced their medical practice in Banga in 1935. Dr. Devinder Paul S. Sandhu, the fourth son of Dr. Bhagat Singh, distinguished himself as an accomplished Eye Surgeon during his tenure with Punjab Civil Medical Services, retiring as the Director of Health Services for Punjab.
Dr. Deepinder Singh Sandhu, having earned his MBBS from Govt. Medical College in 1997 and a postgraduate degree in ophthalmology from Rajiv Gandhi University of Medical Sciences in 2002, further honed his skills through observations at Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai, and Minto Hospital, Bangalore. In 2003, he underwent Phaco training at Aggarwal Eye Hospital, Chennai. The hospital relocated from Banga to Nawanshahr in 2002, now operating from the state-of-the-art Fateh Complex on Chandigarh Road, adjacent to Khalsa Senior Secondary School. With a team of four expert eye surgeons specializing in various fields and qualified optometrists, Sandhu Eye Hospital continues its legacy of exceptional eye care.
