Merilee K. Waters is a teacher who has earned three masters degrees with honors and a juris doctor graduating in the top quarter of her class while working full time. Merilee K. Waters believes her greatest achievement is helping students learn to ask questions and think critically about the world around them. Merilee K. Waters passed the July 2007 Illinois Bar Exam on her first attempt.

As the Chair and only full-time professor of the Paralegal Studies Prgram at Oakton Community College, Merilee K. Waters is currently responsible for the growth and success of the program. Merilee K. Waters is also responsible for sheparding the program through the American Bar Association Approval process over the next year to 18 months.

Merilee K. Waters received a Dean's scholarship for academic merit to the John Marshall Law School.
Merilee K. Waters has been featured in Crain's Business - Chicago.
Merilee K. Waters has been published in Chicago Parent Magazine.
Merilee K. Waters has advocated for children with learning disabilities to receive appropriate accommodations in the classroom.

Merilee K. Waters will be taking the Oakton Community College Paralegal Stuies Program through the ABA approval process and Merilee K. Waters is looking forward to becoming more active in local politics.
